Imagineear has a long history of creating immersive  interpretation projects across Ireland. Over the years, we have steadily grown our presence working with museums, art galleries, heritage sites, visitor attractions and landmark destinations to embed story telling at the heart of the visit.

With our dedicated local team of creatives, producers, operational experts we are well placed to support clients across the country. With Emma and Charlotte leading the charge, we are to respond quickly to their client needs, meeting in person and staying actively connected to the cultural sector. We are truly passionate about what we do and especially  continuing to learn and develop our offer through engaging with the sector and directly with visitors.

Here’s a look at some of what the team has been involved in recently.

In April our team attended a partner meeting hosted by the Commission of Irish Lights, where Charlotte gave a presentation all about our work to attendees.. It was a great opportunity to reconnect with familiar faces and meetwider industry partners, as we all help shape visitor experiences across the country.

Our drive to continually innovate in our content services dovetailed with the wonderfully unique festival in Kilfinane! Our passion for trying out new ways of creating content which will resonate with audiences in a variety of formats is at the heart of what we do. In May, Emma and Catherine attended the Hearsay International Audio Arts Festival in the mountain village of Kilfinane, County Limerick. This festival aligns with our passion for creative exploration and was a truly inspiring experience. Bringing together storytellers, artists, audio producers and podcasters, the festival celebrates the power of audio through a unique programme of talks, performances and installations hosted throughout the village – from churches and pubs to hairdressers and living rooms. One of the standout moments was an Irish-style ‘wake’, held as a tribute to the stories, recordings and audio clips that never made the final edit.

In June, we also took part in the first Association of Visitor Experiences & Attractions (AVEA) supplier event. It was a new initiative bringing attractions and suppliers together in one place and it gave us a chance to have real conversations with people working across the sector and talk through how we can help.

One of our newer projects is with the Shackleton Experience in Athy, County Kildare, where visitors can explore the fascinating story of Sir Ernest Shackleton, the Antarctic explorer. We’ve provided our Digital Group Guide (DGG) system to support their guided tours, making it easier for groups to hear every word clearly through lightweight headsets.

We’ve continued our long-standing relationship with Christ Church Cathedral in Dublin. Over the years, we’ve worked together on a range of multilingual tours for our Mirage devices, exploring themes like Power and Politics, Christ Church and the City, and Music and Spirituality. These tours are designed with accessibility in mind, including Irish Sign Language (ISL) and audio description so that more visitors can engage with the stories being told.

More recently, we helped bring their Adults, Children, Everyone (ACE) Tour to life by handling the audio production and recording. We worked with the same voice artist used in their main tour to keep everything feeling consistent, while shaping the content into something more open and easy to follow for a wider audience.

Ruth Kenny, Head of Learning and Interpretation at Christ Church Cathedral Dublin, said:

We were delighted to work with Imagineaar on our new Adults, Children, Everyone (ACE) tour, which will run alongside our main cathedral and crypt tour. The ACE tour is a more inclusive, back to basics option, which could appeal to children, but also adults who are less familiar with churches, Christianity, Irish history etc. The script also has a sensory twist, encouraging visitors to engage all their senses while exploring the cathedral. This project is something we have wanted to get underway for a number of years and we are grateful to Imagineear for helping us make it a reality. Their experience and expert guidance made the process a very easy one and we are thrilled with the results.

As our work in Ireland continues to grow, we’re really looking forward to building on these relationships and supporting more sites in creating experiences that feel engaging, accessible and memorable for their audiences.
