Igor Mejzner has been a friendly face and active team player at Imagineear over the past six months, completing his graduation internship alongside his bachelor’s degree. His work during this time was awarded an excellent final grade of 9.5 by his university. As his internship comes to an end, he shares a recap of his time with us in our Amsterdam office.
From the start, Igor knew he wanted to work in the sports and entertainment industry, and his time at Imagineear gave him the chance to step beyond university lectures and into real-world projects. Within his first month, he was already working with colleague Will to record backstage content for the 360-video section at the Johan Cruyff Arena.
One of the highlights of Igor’s internship was visiting stadiums across the Netherlands, followed by what he describes as the most memorable experience of all: a trip to Germany where he visited five stadiums in five days. These included the Allianz Arena, Signal Iduna Park and the Olympic Stadium in Berlin, venues he had previously only seen on television. During these visits, he gained valuable insight into how different stadiums operate, how tours are structured and how visitor experiences are delivered.
Back in the office, Igor contributed to several internal projects, from supporting the launch of TourGuide+ to assisting with design work and compiling research reports. Together, these experiences helped him develop a deeper understanding of the industry and the work that goes into creating engaging visitor experiences.
Of course, it wasn’t all work! From company outings and bowling evenings to ‘gezellig’ office lunches and our Christmas party, Igor quickly became part of the team.
Although his internship is ending, Igor’s journey with Imagineear continues. He will now begin his thesis research, exploring customer behaviour and how Imagineear’s services can adapt to different international markets. We look forward to seeing where his research leads!
As Igor puts it: “It has been a pleasure growing as a professional here over the last half-year, and I am excited to see what these upcoming months of research will bring.”
