Oxford University’s world-famous Ashmolean Museum is a treasure trove of stories, and when they asked us to help bring some of them to life, we leapt at the chance.

Digital Storytelling

For the blockbuster exhibition Labyrinth: Knossos, Myth & Reality, we built a truly legendary digital experience. The UK’s first major exhibition dedicated to Crete’s palace featured over 200 artefacts, many never seen here before. Visitors walked the line between fable and archaeological fact through immersive audio soundscapes, with an evocative soundtrack of authentic Greek Kithri music.

We recorded contributions from more than 20 international experts and even enlisted poet Ruth Padel, Professor of Poetry at King’s College London, to lend her voice.

For younger audiences, we designed The Ashmolean Adventure – a permanent family trail where groups work together to uncover the museum’s secrets. With a tap of the screen, visitors can peek beneath a mummy’s wrappings, design an Islamic tile, escape the Minotaur’s maze, or virtually step inside some iconic works of art.

The idea was to get families laughing and learning together and, by all accounts, that’s exactly what they do!

“Stunning and beyond anything we’d ever dared imagine!”

Helen Ward, Deputy Head of Learning
